Justice Trey Allen has been formally invested as associate justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina during a swearing-in ceremony in the Supreme Court courtroom on Wednesday, January 4. 

Dignitaries attending the ceremony included former chief and associate justices and representatives from all three branches of state government.
